Amy and Joey

This past week we just returned from a very special trip and Amy and Joey were a part of it! I have wanted to go to Turkey (Weston grew up there) for a while and didn’t know if it was going to happen, but the more we talked about it and threw ideas around the quicker we realized it was very feasible. We planned to spend the first three days in Cappadocia, then head to Istanbul for a week and close out in Athens, Greece before flying home to Atlanta.

When I say the trip in and of itself was nothing short of my expectations I truly mean it. We had talked about trading off photoshoots for a while and when we got to Cappadocia knew right away that was where they were going to be. Our airbnb was situated in this area surrounded by rock cones, valleys and canyons caused by shifts in the tectonic plates and volcanic activity throughout the years. It kinda looks similar to the Badlands in South Dakota and was so beautiful. The night before our shoot we ran around during sunset climbing all the different fairy chimneys and on our way back scouted the field we’d use for our shoot.

Capturing Amy and Joey is always a favorite and they’re definitely my most photographed couple. In January they will have been married four years (together for 8!!) and are just the best mix of feisty, sassy, calm and collected. They had us laughing so much on this trip because of their interactions with one another and made the photoshoot so fun. I will say this is the first time I’ve ever β€œswapped” during a shoot, where we’d find a pose or area and I’d photograph them…then immediately switch and let her photograph us. It threw off the creative flow a bit if I’m completely honest, but overall was such a fun place.

Enough words for now, please enjoy these cuties in Cappadocia <3
