Jarrett Family
A couple of weeks ago me and Weston got to go back to Colorado ◡̈ It brought my heart SO much joy and was a really fun trip. This was also the first time we’d been back since moving end of February. The main reason for our trip was to watch my friend’s four kids while they went on a birthday get-away! We loved getting to be parents for a week and watching Weston with the kids is always a sure heart melting experience. While I was there I hosted mini sessions two of the evenings and the Lord blessed those times so much.
So Jack is Carrie’s (if you don’t know who that is then it’s a long story but essentially my best friend and often referred to as a sister and mentor) younger brother and him and his family moved to the Springs a couple of years ago to pastor a church! I’ve gotten to know them slowly through the years as they would come up for the holidays, a midweek dinner or just a get together. Laura is the most gentle sweet soul and I’ve loved watching her interact with the kids as I’ve gotten to know her more!
The last time we did family photos was in 2019 (maybe 2020?) I believe but it was extended photos so each “group” truly only got about a three minute session at the end. Which is great for documenting, but doesn’t really allow for time to see the kids interact or have any fun! Mini sessions are great for that cause even though it’s only 30 minutes, we get to see all the personality and joy that they have between one another. Their session started out with a phone call discussing the rain and super dark clouds but we decided they should drive up anyways and we’d see what happens! We sat in the car for about 15 min waiting and eventually we had some beautiful blue skies and the most perfect diffused light from the storms. Jack brought gummies which was genius especially when a spider crawled on Naomi but don’t worry, we laughed it off and carried on.
This session held lots of fun times from red light green light, playing tag, eating sour gummies and playing follow the leader which just lines people up really nice. They also have hair pairs - which I’ve talked a lot about but I just thought it was adorable. I always thought three kids was good, but goodness, if the Lord gives me kids with matching hair then that number just might grow because it’s precious.
Alright, enough rambling…please enjoy the Jarrett Family!
